CARE & MAINTENANCE

Product Care

Good furniture is made to be lived with. A little regular care helps preserve the comfort, finish and character of your Dekato pieces, so they continue to feel considered long after they arrive in your home. Explore our care guidance by material below.

BEFORE YOU CLEAN

Always check the care information supplied with your specific piece first. Test cleaning products on a small, hidden area and avoid harsh chemicals unless they are specifically recommended for that material or finish.

Leather is naturally individual and develops character with use. Gentle, regular care helps preserve its softness and finish.

  • Dust regularly with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Blot spills promptly rather than rubbing them into the surface.
  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and concentrated heat.
  • Use only products suitable for the specific leather finish and test first in a hidden area.

Vegan leather is easy to live with when cleaned gently and kept away from abrasive products.

  • Use a small amount of mild soap diluted in water for light marks.
  • Remove soap residue and dry with a clean cloth.
  • Avoid bleach, harsh solvents, abrasive pads and oil-based conditioners.

Upholstery responds best to frequent light maintenance rather than aggressive cleaning. Vacuum gently and act quickly on spills.

Velvet

Use a soft upholstery attachment and work gently in the direction of the pile. Blot spills immediately and do not scrub.

Bouclé

Vacuum with a soft brush attachment. Avoid snagging jewellery and abrasive contact.

Woven fabric

Vacuum regularly and blot spills promptly. Light pilling can occur naturally through everyday friction.

Chenille

Use a soft-bristle brush, lint roller or gentle upholstery vacuum. Blot liquid immediately and avoid rubbing.
